I feel like this when I'm dead tired and Chris is still wide awake. He must get bored alot because I'm always tired. Poor Chris. Sometimes out of sheer desperation to try to keep me awake so we can finish a conversation he will try to tickle or poke at me untill all of a sudden I just snap! Hee Hee Hee. I think this is really defeating the purpose though because of course that's what he wants me to do. I suppose in all fairness I should say that I've kept him awake before too. Like last week when I woke up at four in the morning and made him wake up to keep me company untill I got sleepy again, I never did. Anyway, I guess it's a good thing we love each other more than sleep.

Good Morning!!!

I went for a walk this morning and saw a hawk flying about two feet off the ground. He was chasing something, maybe a field mouse? I stopped to watch him and was amazed at his ability to turn on a dime. I wish I could fly. Would I want other people to know? What would I do? Where would I go? I suppose I could go anywhere I wanted. I could be a superhero with a disguise so I could still live a "normal" life on the side. But, what kind of hero only flies? I would have to have some other ability otherwise I fly to the scene of the crime and then what? I get the snot beat out of me? I should just stick to getting kittens out of trees.

Living.

It’s a new day! I’m grateful for new days and for Calvin and Hobbes, ice cream, a good book, friends, a warm fuzzy blanket, hot chocolate on a cold day, the feel of warm sand between my toes, a gentle breeze on a warm day, my husbands strong arms around me, the smell of a new box of pencils, crayons, the water hose in July, Starbucks mochas, a good song, sleeping in, the satisfied feeling of crossing off another “to do”, mountains, the lake, the quietness of the library, fresh cut grass, brightly colored fish, puppies, and a brand new hoodie.

What’s up with word verification? Is it just me or are the verifications getting longer?
It all started off innocently enough. Just type in a couple of letters and “viola!” no spam.
Then I noticed that it was taking me a little longer to type in the letters I saw in the box and then it was real work. Sometimes it takes me longer to type in the code than to write my comment. The other day the letters were something like this “ quxiezptlcg” and then I made a mistake so I had to do a whole new code that looked like this “ukvwosmtycxhiij” By the time I did that my lunch break was over and all I wanted to do was say “hi” to one of my fellow bloggers. Well, maybe I’m exaggerating a little but you know what I mean. I suppose one must do what one must do to protect the innocent from unwanted junk mail. Hummmph.

Thanks Everyone!!

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for your encouraging words. I meant for all of us to encourage everyone but it turned out that everyone just said a lot of really nice things about me.
I don't want anyone to think that I was fishing for complements but at the same time I want everyone to know that you truly blessed me. It made me smile to read your comments and I felt humbled. I am blessed beyond measure to have such amazing friends. Thanks so much!

camping: the true story (our adventure into the wild)

Day One,
1200 hours:
I think I'm suffering from malaria. I'm sweating profusely.
1300 hours:
The altitude is climbing. Lost sight of the Steph and Colleen.
1310 hours:
Came to a clearing. I have a strange sense of deja vu.
1315 hours:
Need water, can't go on... good news, found the others.
1317 hours:
I think I'm getting heat stroke. The bugs are trying to get to my brain, probably for the juices.
1318 hours:
I think Steph has lost it. She's standing in the clearing, swaying back and forth. I hope she's not thinking about jumping, I don't have the strength to save her.
1319 hours:
I believe this crater we decided to rest in is a giant ant hill. Probably mutations from some sick experiment. They're a little too curious about what's under my shorts.
1320 hours:
I hear a helicopter...I thought about waving for help but he never came close enough. How long will we survive this nightmare?
1322 hours:
I looked up...two things, first, Stephenie sneezed-she probably has malaria too. Second, this deathtrap is beautiful. It lulls you into a peace that makes you feel safe and then...
1325 hours:
Stephenie's at the edge again and now Colleen is too. I might be able to save one of them but not both. Will Leslie help me?
1326 hours:
I just lost sight of Stephenie, maybe it's too late.
1330 hours:
I followed Stephenie's trail of broken twigs and torn moss. I found her examining the flora and she seems to have regained her sense of sanity.
1335 hours:
this might be my last entry, as we are preparing to enter into the jungles again. May God have mercy in our souls...

1340 hours:
I'm ahead of the others now. I hear more helicopters. It makes me glad that they haven't stopped searching for us yet.
1342 hours:
Leslie is still at the crater. Maybe I should go back for her. She probably has malaria now, it's only a matter of time before Colleen gets it too. We trudge on.
1344: hours
I'm not sure when the hunger will start. I've been keeping my eyes open for food but it's so hard to know what's safe. I just hope we don't resort to cannibalism. If one of us doesn't make it, could I bring myself to feast on their flesh? Only time will tell.
1346: hours
We've started to scatter. Our minds are loosing focus. There are too many paths to chose from. I'm ready to give up.
1348: hours
Colleen just wandered by. She looked suspicious. I wonder what she's been doing? Wait...Where's Stephenie?
1350:hours
Leslie is sitting out in the open. She might get heat stroke or yellow fever out there but I'm more concerned about the wild animals.
1352: hours
We haven't made much progress. I think our moral is just too low. Stephenie just sighed, Leslie has hung her head down and Colleen is dazing off into the forest. I have to regroup. WE WILL SURVIVE!
1354: hours
A breeze has come up from out of nowhere. We will probably all catch a chill.
1400: hours
We've stopped moving and I've lost sight of everyone. I hear voices, maybe they're just in my head. I do feel rather feverish.
1415: hours
We just stumbled upon a road!! Now, if we can just find the van we can go get some ice cream and then everything will be O.K.

Encouragement

Do you ever just need to hear something good or encouraging about yourself?
We're all friends here and I just realized how easy it is to say something good about each other and how much that could do for us as far as lifting each other up. It's free, it's easy, and it's good for ya. So I'll start and show you how, then if you want, you can add on.
I'll start with my husband, Chris.

  • Chris: You're amazing. You know how to lift my spirits. You are strong and smart. You are a loyal friend and a faithful, diligent worker. You love the Lord with all your heart and I've never met someone with as much of a heart to reach out and help other people. Whenever you hear of someone in need, the first thing you ask is "Can we help them?" You're generous and kind.
You're also spiritually strong and know how and when to put your foot down against the enemy and his lies. I stand in awe sometimes when I listen to you take authority over satan in prayer.
Mighty in battle. A friend that sticks closer than a brother. My one and only true love.

  • Stephenie: An adventurer. You love to take the path less trod. You are a true friend. A treasure. You're beautiful and smart. Trusted. I would trust you with my deepest heart. You reflect Christ in profound ways. You are empathetic and I have watched in awe as your heart has broken for the hurt in the lives of others. You have touched my life in such a powerful way. You have prophesied and interceded mightily to gain victory. You have a gift of bringing joy and life to everyday things and I love the peace of just being me around you.
  • Leslie: I always laugh when I'm with you. You bring smiles to my heart. I can be silly or serious and you are always there for me. You are a wonderful friend. You are the kind of friend that can be counted on to be there through thick and thin. A life long friend. It doesn't seem to matter how long we're apart, you make it feel as though it's only been a day. You have a true beauty that starts deep in your heart and shines all the way through to your amazing smile that crinkles up your beautiful eyes and makes your adorable freckles dance an your cute nose. You are beautiful.
  • Colleen: Caring. I know that if I have a burden on my heart you will be there to point me to Christ and you listen. You're smart. Your not afraid to try things. You have a generous nature and the ability to extend grace and mercy to the most undeserving of us. You have a love for God's Word that spurs me on and makes me a little ashamed that I don't read my Bible a little more. You seek out answers diligently. You are beautiful. I think you have a wonderful laugh and you like to use it. You're ability to remember the words to so many songs blows my mind! That's really cool. You are a real friend, a true find, a precious gem.
  • Jeff and Lisa: I don't know you very well but I can say this, Lisa, I have always thought you were and are such a beautiful person and I think you have class. You hold yourself with such nobility but your real at the same time. Jeff, You're just outright cool. You're so friendly and you make people feel important because of your ability to focus on them and really listen to what they're saying. You are great people and I consider it an honor to know you.
  • Mike: I don't really know you that well either but you seem to like to laugh alot and you seem to be an encouragement to those around you. You also appear to be a very giving person. You give of your time and energy to help other people. You are probably a really great guy.

Well, I hope this was an encouragement to some of you. I love you all and hope you have a blessed day and a great weekend.
