Pup-sitting
Chris and I volunteered to watch Rick and Monique's two little puppies for a couple of weeks.
They are sooo tiny and cute.
I love to snuggle with them.
But, they are time consuming.
I bring them to work and Colleen and I each take one and tuck them into our sweatshirts or jackets and carry them around as we work.
Hopefully I can get a picture of them on my site soon so you can all see them.

Christopher
Chris is doing much better now.
Thank you all for your prayers!
He had three nights of no sleep, two emergency room visits, an IV of antibiotics, two regular doctor visits, two prescriptions, fevers of 101, chills, pain in his whole body-every joint, muscle, organ and bones, a swollen arm that hurt so bad he wanted to cut it off, headaches...
All because the nurse at the doctors office forgot to clean his arm with alchohol before she gave him his shot.
I should never have made the appointment in the first place.

Good Morning!
Sunday afternoon Chris and I raked all our leaves up and burned them. It was nice seeing our grass again.
Monday evening it looked like we never touched the rake and I had to bid a fond farewell to the grass.
I'm not sure that this is a battle we can win.
We live across the street from a little patch of woods and that little patch is where the majority of the neighbors in a four block radius dump there leaves. I'm not sure whose leaves we're raking up anymore.
One guy walked by us while we were raking and burning and he had a huge sheet full of leaves to offer the "forest gods". He had the nerve to chuckle at us and offer a comment about us burning our leaves as if we were stupid.
In the city, the smallest plot of forest becomes a dumping ground for every kind of refuse imaginable. Garbage, bedding, needles, bodies, yard waste, tires... People don't care. They think it's no big deal and it doesn't effect anything.
What about the children who want to play in those woods? Who want to pretend that they're explorers or elves? Oh, yeah, that's right, I forgot.
Kids don't go outside anymore. They watch T.V. and play video games.
So maybe it really doesn't matter after all.
Or... maybe we need to shut off the electronics and take back our imaginations. RECLAIM THE WOODS! Rebuild our forts and our playhouses. Breath the fresh air and remember how to climb a tree.
Dump the garbage back into the yards of the people it came from with a polite nod and maybe a gentle threat backed by a discreet sawed off shotgun. Whose with me?!
