Factoids

Here are some interesting facts I found at interestingfacts.com or something like that. Enjoy! An office desk has 400 times more bacteria than a toilet. Barbie's boyfriend Ken was not sold in India until recently because it clashed with the traditional arranged marriage. A baby octopus is about the size of a flea when it is born. A squirrel cannot carry the rabies virus. Cattle can produce up to 180 litres of saliva in one day. All the Krispy Kreme donut stores collectively could make a doughnut stack as high as the Empire State Building in only 2 minutes. Bananas trees are not really trees. They are considered to be giant herb plants. In 1982, a cactus in Phoenix, Arizona killed a man. David Grundman fired two shotgun blasts at a giant saguaro cactus that ended up falling on top of him. In Japan, by the time man reaches the age of 60, he is commemorated with a special ceremony. This ceremony features the man wearing a red kimono, which denotes that he no longer has the responsibilities of being a mature adult. The Christmas season begins after sunset on December 24th and lasts until January 5th. This is also known as the Twelve Days of Christmas. All the more reason to celebrate just a little bit longer.

Ha Ha Ha.

Before I go on, I would like to clarify: I do not believe that blonds are dumb but that it is simply an easily recognized symbol for the whole of humanity.

A blonde decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no lessons or prior experience. She mounts the horse unassisted and it immediately springs into motion. It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slip from the saddle. In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip.
She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly ignorant of its slipping rider.
Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blonde attempts to leap away from the horse and throw herself to safety. Unfortunately, her foot becomes entangled in the stirrup, and she is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over.
She starts to lose consciousness, but to her great fortune, Bobby, the Wal-Mart greeter, sees her and unplugs the horse.

The Hunt

He grunts in anticipation. Covering himself with paint and urine he climbs to his perch in the gnarled old oak. A manly man, he prepares to wait for as long as it takes. The rabid vicious monster must die. The beast that has reeked havoc on the world must suffer and who better than him, a perfect spectacle of muscle with the eye of a hawk and his trusty 12 gauge. THERE! What was that? A rumble... The leaves in the thicket move, a great crashing resounds through the woodland and from between the bramble comes the most ferocious animal you have ever seen. Had the hunter been caught unaware he would have surely become the hunted, but, that is to gruesome to even think of. Instead, the hunter readily took aim and with one swift motion the prey lay still on the forest floor. His comrades would celebrate his victory tonight. The great and terrible horror was dead and his children could sleep without fear. He was indeed a man among men. No longer would madness reign because of this thing, this...this deer?

Oh My!

O.K. I get it . Nobody wanted to post their results to the quiz because (1) They didn't take the test (2) They don't know how to copy and paste on a computer or (3) They are so deranged that if they post the results the men in the white jackets will come and get them.
I can barely believe that it is almost November. Where has all the time gone?
Did you guys know that yesterday was the last day of bear season? I can't believe that I let another year go by without getting a bear.
What was I thinking?! At least I haven't missed the muskrat season.

Quiz time

Check this personality quiz out. It's kinda interesting. colorquiz

Your Existing Situation
Acts in an orderly, methodical, and self-contained manner. Needs the sympathetic understanding of someone who will give her recognition and approval.
Your Stress Sources
The situation is regarded as threatening or dangerous. Outraged by the thought that she will be unable to achieve her goals and distressed at the feeling of helplessness to remedy this. Over-extended and feels beset, possibly to the point of nervous prostration.
Your Restrained Characteristics
Circumstances are such that she feels forced to compromise for the time being if she is to avoid being cut off from affection or from full participation.
Very exacting in the standards she applies to her choice of a partner and seeking a rather unrealistic perfection in...(edited)
Your Desired Objective
Needs to feel identified with someone or something and wishes to win support by her charm and amiability. Sentimental and yearns for a romantic tenderness.

64 Days

Only 64 days till Christmas and guess what?! I bought my first present today! It's for my dad, but I can't tell you what it is in case he reads this blog. Christmas is so much more fun if you can keep things a surprise. I don't like knowing everything that I am getting because then I wouldn't have the fun of guessing or sneaking into the living room and shaking all the boxes with my name on them. Don't even tell me that you don't do that too. If you don't, than you must want to and just practice great restraint or your a humbug. I always feel like a kid at Christmas time. I curl up on the couch and stare at the brilliant lights on the tree letting my mind take me back...well, I am getting caught up aren't I. I better focus on the fact that we have a whole 64 more days. Thanksgiving is a wonderful time too and I musn't skip it over in my excitement. This year should be the best one we've had in a long time because the whole family is going to be together. For the first time in six years, Jesse (and his family!) is going to be home for the holiday. I pray to my Lord that he will bless us with peace and His Love.

It is a beautiful day! I am happy to see the sun smiling down on us. I had to get rid of my chatterbox this week because it was putting ads on my page for horoscopes and gambling. Now I have to find a different site to download a new chatterbox. No big hurry though 'cause nobody really uses it anyway, it just makes my site look cooler. Now I must go, but I leave you with this promise, "I shall return to blog again."

Truth

I know that I said that I would try to write cheery things but, this is too heavy on my heart not to share. Absolute Truth comes from the word of God. The message of the Gospel is Bloody and offensive. It is the breath of Life to some and the stench of death to others. The enemy, who is satan, has infiltrated our ranks in such a way that it is almost unrecognizable. Such subtle deceit. Little things that go unchecked, slowly drawing us further and further from the Truth until we are so far off that we no longer recognize or discern the Spirit of God from any other spirit. People...get ready. God is coming and we better get serious about the things of God before it is too late. Pray for discernment, read the Word of God! and I am not talking about those watered down versions. Get yourself a real Bible. The KJV or a NKJV if you have a hard time understanding. I may sound old fashioned but that is O.K. The Holy Spirit can and will quicken the Scriptures into your spirit. You don't need to be intellectual to get Truth from the Word. There is such a thing as absolute truth and it is found in God's Holy Word, the Bible.

Survey says

Steph had a link on her blog for a quiz to tell you what kind of hair personality you are. I am a low ponytail. Interesting. Thanks for the fun link Steph!
Low Ponytail:
You're a sweet, sensitive person, you're very smart and very serious on your studies. You're the type of person who loves a good book and likes to write stories or poetry. You keep a small group of friends, and you like it just like that!

Grrrrrrrrrr

I had to get my blood test today and I forgot to bring my insurance card if I even have one. Now I have to go back tomorrow and show my card or they will bill me for it. I almost walked out. I get so frustrated with medical things. I didn't want them to take my blood anyway. It is MY blood! The blood is life and it is holy. I asked God about it and I didn't have peace. Maybe I shouldn't have even gone. I won't do it again just for insurance.
My mom used to tell me that if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. Maybe I should just stop blogging. I do have good things to say I just don't feel like typing unless I am irritated or troubled. Sorry everyone, if this site gets too depressing. I will try to post something more positive next time.

Fear

I am battling with fear today. It is the biggest tool of the enemy and how many times he has used it against the saints of God with cripling results. I do not want to fall prey to his trap.
Please pray for me when you think of me. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Many are they that rise up against me but I will say of the Lord, He is my rock and my refuge, my God in whom I will trust. The wicked flee when no man pursues but the righteous are as bold as a lion. To anyone who needs to be encouraged today, myself included: remember, If God is for us, who can be against us. When the enemy comes in, like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard against him. To God be the glory, forever and ever, Amen.

I am sooooo sleepy.

I can barely keep my eyes open today. I stayed up until one watching a movie with my mom. But I slept in until almost ten so I shouldn't be this tired. Maybe it is just the weather. The sound that the wind makes blowing through the trees and all the leaves blowing around the yard. Every once in a while you can hear it pushing it's way through the sill in the window. The sky is such a ghostly gray. Fall is moving upon us. "I stand tall amongst the trees as I feel them whip around me embracing their strength in my soul." Fall has always been a time of reflection for me. I feel exposed like the trees when their leaves are stripped from them. I look down at myself to see if I have grown taller or if the storms of this life have twisted my limbs. I look around me to see if I have born fruit. I look up to see if I can still see the heavens shining on me. I look to the future and realize afresh that I am nothing without God. Preparing for the winter knowing that peace comes in the stillness. Thank you God for making me the way you knew was best.

It's FRIDAY!

Yeah! I am glad this week is almost over. My brothers and dad are going on a little weekend trip which means that mom and I have the house all to ourselves. We can clean and it will stay that way until the boys come back. Why are guys so messy anyway? Do their noses not detect funky odors? Do they think that mold is a house plant? Do they believe that dust bunnies are real animals that should be cared for? and if so there wouldn't be any because they would forget to feed them or change their litter. But, I am getting a little sidetracked aren't I. The point is, it's Friday and I am taking mom out to dinner and a movie. Then we are going to come home and curl up in her room with a good book and something warm to drink like maybe hot chocolate. I am looking forward to it after the week I just had.
In retrospect of my above tantrum: It is fun to pick on guys but, in all fairness, I have met some girls who are far worse in regards to their cleaning habits. Men do other things to make up for their lack of cleaning abilities like working and taking care of our financial needs not to mention that they love us and make us feel needed.

Gray

Today is such a gray day. It makes me want to curl up and listen to some Rich Mullins or read a good book with a big mug of hot chocolate. Instead I have to work. I am grateful for my job don't get me wrong. It's just that I find it hard to focus when the weather outside is so conducive to sleeping. Then again, I also find it hard to focus when the weather is really nice because it just makes me want to be outside. It is amazing that I get anything done at all. I have always been a day dreamer and if people only knew what kind of things I dream up...Well, they would probably laugh till they were blue in the face.

Yesterday

Yesterday was a hard day for me. I had to have a physical. I dislike those to the utmost extreme! I have to work myself up to them and when I finally talked myself into it, it was the worst one ever. I never want to go through that again. I was so angry after that.
When I was getting ready for bed my nose started to bleed.
Then I had a hard time sleeping last night and when I did, I dreamed a troubling dream that made me wake up crying. I am glad it is today and not yesterday.
Today is a new day and Gods mercy is new every morning. He orders my steps and gives me peace.
I tried to wake up my brother Jason this morning to go out for our weekly ritual bagel but he said he was too tired. Can you imagine that! Too tired at 6am. How can you be tired with a whole five hours of sleep. Well, I had to slap him and call him a slacker. He said he was sorry and that we can go get our bagel tomorrow instead. I suppose.
